Preparing for birth
Pregnancy
CranioSacral Therapy can treat the less serious symptoms of pregnancy such as morning sickness or constipation so there is no need to suffer in silence. It offers support for emotional symptoms that may arise as one or both parents adjust to approaching parenthood.

More serious complains such as Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction or baby in breech position can also be helped. I work in conjunction with other healthcare providers such as midwives and your G.P. and I advise any mum to be to seek their advice for any severe or long-lasting persistent symptoms that are causing problems.
Preparing for Birth
Past accidents, falls or previous labours commonly leave a legacy of restricted movement or strain in the pelvis even if no symptoms are present. This can limit the ability of the bones to move and create the largest amount of space needed for the baby to progress through the birth canal.
Positions of the baby
To facilitate this progress through the birth canal, the best position for the baby is head downward and facing backwards with their spine curled in the same position as the mother’s. Other positions may prolong labour and make it more difficult for mother and baby. CranioSacral treatment to balance the bones of the pelvis may encourage the baby to lie in a better position for the birth.
Baby
How was the birth for your baby?
CranioSacral Therapists consider the birth from the baby’s perspective. Every baby’s birth is unique whether very quick, long and drawn out or with assistance such as forceps, venteuse or Cesarean section. The baby may have been squashed, pulled or twisted in different ways and this may leave a lasting effect on the baby.
Who Am I?
Having graduated as a Homoeopath from the College of Homoeopathy, London in 1996, I then added CranioSacral Therapy to my skills, a holistic hands-on therapy which gently re-aligns the body and brings a return to balance and well-being. Suitable for all ages and conditions, it is particularly useful in pregnancy, labour and for problems arising after birth. As a doula, I attend births and offer CranioSacral Therapy and Homoeopathy during labour and post-nataly.
Registered and insured through Homoeopathy International (R. Hom Int) and the CranioSacral Therapy Association UK (RCST), my practice extends from Bury St Edmunds (The Self Centre) to Braiswick, Colchester CO4.
